Preselector Gearboxes

We specialise in the reconditioning of preselector gearboxes, which were used from 1928 until the 1950’s. Preselector gearboxes were fitted into a variety of cars such as Alvis, Armstrong-Siddeley, Daimler, Invicta, Lagonda, Lanchester and Riley. We completely dismantle the preselector gearbox and it is reconditioned throughout. We have machining facilities and can re-manufacture worn or damaged parts if necessary. We also reline our own brake bands. Once re-assembled, the pre-selector gearbox is tested on our test rig. After testing, we re-adjust the bands and check the self-adjusting mechanisms. We can have your car here as well, for removal and refitting of your preselector gearbox if you prefer.
